Does Taking Cortisone Shot Along With Naproxen Cause Rust Tinged Urine?
On 1/25/2016 I received shots of cortisone into both hip bursas. I stopped my Naproxen 500 bid for 3 days then resumed it for pain elsewhere. (I am 70 with arthritic knees). Then 2 1/2 weeks later I started passing some rust tinged urine with only dark rust urine the am of 2/7/16. I immediately forced water and gave a urine specimen the next day which looked normal and no rust tinged urine since and no burning or pain with voiding nor pain over the kidney areas. I do seem to have some frequency but really, not the usual symptoms of a UTI. (I am a nurse of 49 years also). I will be seeing my urogynecologist soon. My question is can the cortisone shot effects mixed with the Naproxen have caused some bleeding into the urinary track? My husband is a retired urologist and thinks that the specimen of gross blood (he witnessed it) calls for a cysto and IVP or cat can to check out the urinary tract and function. Now I have no symptoms but am concerned since I had breast CA in 2000 that I should know if I have a tumor or stones or something that needs to be addressed. Should I push for these tests with now no symptoms and the specimen I gave at the office was normal which was sent out for a culture?
