Does Taking Cartia XT Twice A Day Cause Any Side Effects?

Yes I took a 240 dose of Cartia Xt. This morning at 8:30 I one I took another by mistake at 5:00 in the afternoon. I have no adverse symptoms blood pressure normal no dizziness. I called my cartiologist got his nurse she told me as long as my vitals were normal to call them tomarrow.

Cartia XT is having diltiazem. It is calcium channel blocker. It can cause bradycardia, hypotension, dizziness, giddiness, weakness etc if taken in high dose. Since your vitals are normal and you are not having any symptoms, no need to worry for this accidental ingestion of Cartia XT tablet. Watch for above mentioned signs and symptoms for 1 day. If any of them is seen then consult your doctor.
