Does Taking Aspirin Before A Dental Surgery Cause Any Complications?

I am supposed to have dental gum surgery on Tuesday 28 November and I wanted to ask two questions. The for the gum surgery will involve removing slivers of scan from the roof of my mouth and sound to my gumline where the tooth is receding . This past Saturday I had an on usual episode where my eyes felt like they were crossing and so I laid down and took a baby aspirin since I thought it might be a stroke. I didn’t know if I should go ahead and have the surgery on Tuesday. After I lay down for 30 minutes or an hour I went ahead and took my shower and went to a function and felt fine and my eyes. Were that way for a few seconds. Is there a pill to take before a surgery where are you bleed a little bit?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Taking Aspirin before any surgical procedure could result in excess bleeding or having more bleeding tendencies. Apart from that, it doesn't cause any other side effects related to procedures. So do not be worried if the bleeding takes more time to clot or bleeding happens again and again. Gradually, you should be able to overcome the problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
