Does Strep Throat Infection Cause Difficulty Breathing Along With Red And Swollen Uvula?

I just woke up this morning it was a little harder for me to breathe, I have had strep about 3 times in a 2month time period, and so I thought I could have it again, but when i looked in my mouth I saw my uvula was really red, and its swollen but also has a blister on it? what is that?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms swollen uvula with a blister in it can be due to bacterial infection (strep throat) causing inflammation leading to UVULITIS..

Nothing to worry, you can take antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin for a week..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen for reducing pain and swelling of uvula..
Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
Do warm saline gargles..
Steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can relieve..
Avoid spicy and hard foods and take a soft and bland diet..

Hope this information helps..
