Does Sore Leg And Migraines While Having Pcos Indicate Early Menopause?

Hi, I am 37 years old, 16 months ago I had a hysterectomy, cervix & uterus only, I kept both of my ovaries. I have PCOS. I have been experiencing ovarian discomfort over the last few days, I am on anti depressants & spirnolactone. I get migraines regularly 3-4 x a month. I have also been have sore legs at night when I lie down. Am hot most of the night. It is winter here & I m still sleeping with summer sheets etc while the rest of the family has warmer bedding. I am wondering if I am starting to head into early menopause. I m curious to know what your opinion is. I see my GP regularly.

Hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.

Tour symptoms can be due to surgical menopause or somekind of hormonal changes like thyroid hormone.

I will suggest you to get blood FSH and TSH levels done.
This will help to know about ovarian function and thyroid function.
FSH levels above 15 indicate that ovaries have finished working on hormone production front. Then you can consider that you have menopause .
Secondly, TSH levels above 5.5 indicate thyroid dysfunction and needs correction with tablets Thyroxin as per TSH levels.

Please opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen.
Include more portions of fruits and vegetables and salads in daily diet.
Drink plenty of water in the day.
Avoid refined sugars and deep fried foods and bakery products in the diet.
Please take Iron, Calcium, protein and vitamin B 12 and Folic acid supplementation on regular basis.
Also, please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for phytoestrogens tablet, on daily basis for at least 3 months.
Along, include soy milk and other soy products in daily diet.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar.
