Does Smoking Weed Induce High TSH Levels?

hello sir, my TSH is 14.0 which is very high as docter told me the normal values is less than 5.0. i think TSH is high because of hashish coz i smoke hashish. Do you think hashish(hash, charas, weed) affects on thyroid function, specific to my case? thanks very much

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You have TSH of 14. It is high. Normal level is less then 5. So you are suffering from hypothyroidism. You need thyroid supplements. Drugs like synthroid, eltroxin etc can be used. These all are prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.

Hashish has no relation with high TSH. You may have thyroiditis.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you very good health.
