Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Shisha (hookah) smoking is known to affect fertility in both men and women. It could delay conceiving in women.
Shisha smoke causes harmful effects as it contains heavy metals like arsenic, chromium, lead, cobalt, which enter into the smokers system and does all the damage to the body. It also could suppress the immune system leading to infections. It can increase women’s risk of blood clots.
Hence, with these adverse effects, hookah smoking could delay pregnancy and also increase the chances of miscarriage.
Kindly advise her to stop it completely as it would not only affect pregnancy, but also affects the growth and development of fetus if pregnancy occurs.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
