Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Although the ill effects of use of marijuana in pregnancy is not fully known, most experts advise pregnant women not to use marijuana. This is because the main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana - tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) passes through the mother in to the baby's bloodstream. It is noted that 10 to 30 percent of the THC in the mother's system can reach the baby during pregnancy. Moreover, babies are much more vulnerable to chemicals and toxins than adults. Smoking marijuana raises carbon monoxide levels in mother's blood. This can reduce the amount of oxygen for the developing baby, which can affect growth. After the baby's born, it is not a good idea to use marijuana while breastfeeding, either. THC and other chemicals in weed pass through the milk to the baby.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
