Does Skipping Of Birth Control Pills Render The Method Ineffective?

Hi, I have a question about my birth control. I m on camrese lo which is a generic version of seasonique. It s a 3 month pack and I m on my second 3 month pack. During my first 3 month pack i took the pills kind of inconsistently, there were sometimes i skipped for a couple days but i just picked it right back up where i left off. My doctor told me that it took a month for my birth control to become active. I took an un-needed week break in between my first pack and my second. I m on my second week of my second week, since I waited the week between packs does that mean it will take another month before my birth control kicks in, I wonder because I had unprotected sex very recently and i want to know if there is a chance of me becoming pregnant because of it?

Hi,
I noted your concerns.

You were not regular with your first pack. Now you are already taking the second pack. When you are taking seasonique, you are protected from the time you finish the first seven pills. So don't worry. If you have had sex after the first seven pills of the second pack, you are protected. It does not take one month to become protective. It is extremely important that you take the tablets correctly and regularly.
I hope I have answered your concerns.
