Does Repeated Concussions Cause Increase In Symptoms And Why Do Axons Don T Heal?
Thank you for writing. You had indicated that the recurrent numbness or twitching in the hands could be a result of the concussions - diffuse axonal injury - frontal and/or temporal lobe.It has not completely gone away after this most recent concussion (2 years ago) as it did with the earlier ones. Am I correct that with repeated concussions, the chance of lasting symptoms increases - and why is it that the axons? won t heal all the way - as before

Regarding your concern, I would explain that the axonal damage is an important damage of the brain cells. It is usually irreversible.
Repeated brain trauma, can lead to repeated brain cell death, which leads to a more severe clinical situation.
I would recommend performing a brain MRI to examine the possible brain lesions.
An EEG is necessary to exclude possible epilepsy (including myoclony) which could be responsable for those twitching in the hands.
There is no cure to brain damage. But we can try to improve the situation with physiotherapy and antiepileptic drugs to reduce your troubles (hand twitching).
