Does pressing the nose hard strongly for a long time make the nose flat?

Dear doctor, does pressing the nose hard strongly for a long time make the nose flat? Does twisting the nose hard strongly for a long time make the nose bent? Similarly, do pressing and twisting the nose hard strongly for a long time block and narrow the nasal breathing passages? I am 29 years old. What about the children s nose? Please make me clear. Answers from ENT specialists will be highly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Hello.
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic forum.
Pressing or twisting the nose does not cause any permanent change in the shape of the nose even if it is a small child. The nose contains cartilage and the bones which maintain the shape of the nose and cannot be changed like this.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be available if you have any further queries.

ENT Specialist Dr. Naveen Kumar's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum
If you look back into this forum a similar query has been answered by me. No, the shape of the nose does not change by pulling it forward or prolonged pressing of the nose as the bony part of the nose will not get altered by any of these forces, neither the cartilaginous part of the nasal framework, unless it is damaged by surgery or granulomatous diseases. Cartilaginous part is rubbery in nature and springs back even after pressing it for a long time.

Does pressing and twisting the nose hard habitually for a long time make the nose flat or bent? Similarly, does pressing and twisting the nose hard habitually for a long time narrow or obstruct the nasal breathing passages?

Dear doctor , if the nose is pressed, twisted, stretched, pulled and tugged hard strongly for a long time, for example, for days or months, will the nose become flat, bent or change in the shape? Nose may not become flat, bent or change in shape if nose is pressed, twisted, stretched, pulled and tugged hard only for a short time, for example hours. I am asking you specifically for a long time. I have the fear that if I press, twist, stretch, pull and tug my nose hard either for a short time or for a long time, then my nose will become flat, bend or change in shape. Please explain me medically.

Now the cough is gone and only sinusitis remains, no that much sputum. I done a chest x-ray last week which came normal. However doctor told a elevation in Diaphragm and enlagement of heart. What will be the reason of this?. Active Pulmonoray TB not there, but will it be Miliary TB symptom or Amoebic Liver Abscess or anything else?? Please advice me for the next step

About a month ago I heard a loud noise in my right ear and got dizzy. Then two weeks later I had upper respiratory and my right ear looked irritated. I was prescribed z pack. Then two weeks after that I felt I couldnt swallow, my skin on my neck was stretching, pressure in my face, and dizzy. I went back to the doctor and he said both ears were irritated and I probably had sinus infection, even though I had no mucus. He prescribed amoxicillin and advil congestion relief. The pressure in my head at times was uncomfortable to a point where I had to look in the mirror and make sure my face was not disformed. I went back a few days, even though the other symptoms went away and he ordered an MRI. All came back normal except for a maxillary mucus retention cyst in my right sinus. The doctor said it was very small and should not be causing all this. Last night I went to the er because, the pressure in my nose for the past two days makes me feel as if I am not able to breathe. My right ear and head are numb when I feel the pressure in my right nostril. No matter what I take no mucus or flem is coming out and I get panicky when I feel the pressure and numbness. I have to say the pressure is not as intense these past few days as it was last week but still uncomfortable and scary. The ER doctor just ordered claritin but when I called my doctor that said it would dry me up more and he gave me sudafed which I am now taking. also was on lexapro (2,5mg) for a few years and took a year or so to wean off it correctly. I have been off of it for over two months. Could this be related? I have an appointment with an ENT this week.
