Does pneumonia cause water retention in the body?

my friend just spent 31 days in the hospital for a very rare case of pneumonia in which a ventilator was needed for almost a week. post hospital for almost 3 weeks however the sever water retention will not subside even on meds. I see all systems coming back fast but all seven doctors say its normal???? please break this down..... also one eye doesn t react to light as it should?

In pneumonia, as your friend clinically improving, it is suggestive towards recovery.

In pneumonia, pleural effusion can occur and with proper antibiotic treatment it can be resolved. Mild pleural effusion is not a problem.

If pleural effusion more, then pleural tapping is needed. Provide your full reports as attachment for giving more comment.
