Does Pain In The Waist Line Indicate Shingles?

Thanks, I have been having severe pain on one side around my waist line for about a week. The last 4 days much worse. My Doctor said I have the signs and symptoms as shingles . I have had the shingles shot. I can only take Tylenol for pain. It is sensitive to touch and sometimes shooting pain. Can one have shingles if you have had the shot. I keep checking for a rash but none so far. YYYY@YYYY

Hi!
Welcome to HCM!

I can understand your problem.
You are suffering from what is known as "Post herpetic neuralgia"

This condition arises following a viral infection known as herpes zoster (shingles) which involves the peripheral nerves and the ganglion. It is characterized by painful blisters along the distribution of the nerves.
Pain persists even after the disappearance of the rash and blisters.
This pain usually does not respond to Tylenol or other commonly prescribed pain killers. You will have to take Tegretol 400 mg tablets three times daily for 2 weeks.

Regards!
