Does myotonic dystrophy cause low metabolism rate resulting in slow weight loss ?

Does myotonic dystrophy cause a slow metabolism in weight loss terms? I was diagnosed with MD 26 years ago...since turning 50 my symptoms are a lot worse. I m always exhausted , even with little exertion and am finding it difficult to control my weight.

the condition is slow progressive resulting in your weakness
have a healthy balanced diet and total calori taken should be kept as per your requirement .consult doctor/dietician and make a diet chart and follow it
do the exercises that you can do .even simple fast walking for 45 minuets 5days in a week will do great job
