Does Mold Exposure Cause Bleeding During Bowel Movement?

Ive been removing / spraying for black mold in a commercial building. Ive worn ppe and a vented mask. Today i had a very bloody bowel movement. Can doing work around black mold cause this? Ive been doing this for 3.5 days. Can it cause such a severe reaction as to have a large amount of blood in the bowel movement?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.

Having a recent large amount of blood during a bowel movement is indicating hemorrhoids especially if you are having problems with constipation.

Mold exposure or working might have changed bowel habits, perhaps you have not eaten your meals regularly.

Usually mold exposure is associated with bloody nose due to inhaled toxic mold.

Anal fissure is also to consider especially if strained hard.

I advise to get it further checked by proctologist. Try to eat more high fiber foods, take laxatives and apply prep h locally.

Wish fast recovery.
