Does Missing Menstrual Cycle Indicate Pregnancy?

Hi my name is Diana I'm 23 years old, 5 foot 2 and weigh about 140. I have had ovarian Cysts since I was about 16.my periods have always been abnormal but they seem to just keep getting futher apart...it was 4 months before I got my period last time. Right now I havnt had my period in 3 months and I'm still waiting but in the last week or so I've been noticing a white boogery discharge..there's not odor or irritation. I am sexually active with my boyfrind and was wondering if this could be a sign of pregnancy or could it possibly have something to do with a cyst. I have no cramping or pain. And show no other signs that would sggest I'm pregnant or going to get my period any time soon but when I was pregnant with my son I didn't find out until I was 5 moths. Had no other signs of pregnancy but a missed perriod which of course I thought was caused by a cyst

OBGYN 's  Response
Unfortunately, if you have irregular periods, it is very difficult to figure out if you have conceived without doing a pregnancy test. Because you have a history of irregular periods and ovarian cysts you likely suffer from a condition called PCOS, or polycystic ovary syndrome. PCOS can cause ireegular cycles and cysts to develop in the ovaries from eggs that are not ovulated every month, however, you can still get pregnant! These cysts do not usually cause any symptoms and are not dangerous. I suggest you do a pregnancy test and if it is negative, you should use contraception if you do not want to be pregnant. Birth control pills can give you regular cycles, suppress ovarian cysts, and prevent pregnancy. Seeing an OBGYN can help to evaluate these problems. I hope this was helpful and good luck!
