Does Low Blood Count In Body Affect Heart?

My mother suffered from chest pain and even pain in left arm. we consulted doctor, ECG is fine, Sugar is fine, BP is fine. Later in another test we came to know that she is having less blood. Her age is above 50 years. 1.5 years back she had similar problem of chest pain. Angiogram is done and doctor said one of the arteries, viens(not sure) is in starting stage of blocking, and said no need to worry.

So please let me know how less blood affects the heart. what is the treatment to increase the blood.

Thank you for the query.
As per the history, your mother is around 50 yrs old, non diabetic, non-hypertensive with a chest pain radiating to the left arm. The term 'less blood' is very vague, and it usually describes low hemoglobin level (in all probabilities). In medical terms it is known as Anemia.
Hemoglobin, is a compound in the red blood cell, which carries Oxygen to the various organs. Deficiency of Hemoglobin, can cause a number of symptoms - and chest pain, shortness of breath and angina may precipitate (since the cardiac muscles do not get enough supply of oxygen).
I would advise you to get a complete hemogram done (if not done earlier). This can give an idea regarding why is she anemic (is she not producing enough blood or is she losing blood). An iron profile may help, since if she is having Iron deficiency Anemia, oral Iron supplements may help her. A stool test for Occult blood can be done, to rule out blood loss through the Gastrointestinal Tract.
With advancing age, some changes may be noted in the blood vessels of the body (arteries, veins), and probably right now you need not worry about it much.
Hope this helps you out
