Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Long Term Dosage Of Actonel Cause Rashes And Itching Of The Body?
I have taken Actonel for less than 2 years. A few months ago I started to experience rashes on my body as well as itching. It does not go away, but flares up. I stopped taking actonel 6 weeks ago, and would like to know how long I will have the rash and itchiness.
Skin rash can occur as a side effect of actonel(risedronate) treatment. This drug requires around 10-14 weeks to reach a level where its effect is not seen in the body. But your rash(if relate to actonel) may substantially come down in the coming weeks as you have stopped the drug and the drug level actually falls every week. Do consult your treating physician for guidance on alternatives.
