Hi, Yes, these side effects are suggestive of aspiration pneumonia. Lacticepose is a laxative commonly prescribed for the symptomatic relief of constipation. Its common side effects include abdominal distension, belching, flatulence, abdominal discomfort and dehydration. In some elderly persons the drug particles from the mouth dribble or are aspirated into the airways and then can get into the lungs to cause inflammation or infection. Based on the history you seem to be aspirating this medication into the airways and thus lungs causing inflammation or infection of the airways. I advise you to stop or reduce the dosage of this medication, do not sleep immediately after taking this medication, elevate the head end of your bed slightly to prevent the aspiration from moving up into the throat and then down into the lungs.
