Does Irregular Heartbeat Require Another EKG?

Male - 85 years of age - 174 lbs. history of stroke 2005 A Visit today for a pre-surgery work up prior to melanoma removal on 5/4/2016 EKG result showed an irregular heart beat at times. It is not with a constant pattern. This is completely new. How soon should another EKG be performed? Should it be with his primary physician?

I understand your concern.
Irregular heartbeat noticed in EKG needs to be evaluated further. Another repeat EKG could be taken after 24 to 48 hours, but may not be conclusive what could be the cause for such abnormality.
Hence, it is advisable for you to go for echocardiogram and stress test to know what could be the reason behind it.
Kindly consult Cardiologist with the report for analysis and advise regarding the same.
