Does Intake Of Nordette While Having The Habit Of Smoking Have Any Side Effects?

Hi! I'm 21 years old and i've been taking nordette for about 4 months now. I'm sexually active and am also a smoker so I'm really scared of what that may cause. I have heard about these POP's or progestin only pills and i'm really not sure if nordette is classified as one. Your replies will be deeply appreciated.

Nordette is a brand of combined estrogen progesterone pill and is one of the commonly prescribed brand. You can safely continue Nordette and it has got good efficacy. However smoking can cause contraceptive failure as it can induce the metabolism of pills and thus they are used up earlier. So it is better to quit smoking while you are on birth control pills.
