Does Intake Of Spectra, A Birth Control Pill, Cause Unusual Weight Gain?

Does the birth control pill Spectra cause unusual weight gain? After I had surgery to have a cyst removed from my ovary, my gyno put me on Spectra to take continuously to prevent ovulation. I have gained 25 pounds since then (3 months) and nothing else such as diet or exercise has changed. Do you believe the pill is suspect or should I check to see if something else is going on hormonally causing the weight gain?

Hi, I think spectra can be the reason of weight gain because of the hormones present in the pill. But better to do a thyroid profile to rule out any thyroid problem. It can also caus3 excess weight gain.
