Does Intake Of Norfloxacin Help In Treating Diarrhea?

For loose motions, I am prescribed Norlox TZ 1-0-1 for 3 days. The symptoms are a) Semi solid motions 3 to 4 times a day and they are foul smelling. b) Loose motions associated with stomach pain. c) Sudden urge to pass stools without prior sensation. I feel a lot better now after taking this drug ie since 2 days.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The fact that the symptoms improved with the use of the medication may mean that the loose stool is related to a bacterial infection of the gastrointestinal tract (GI tract).

Most common reasons for acute diarrhea are infections of the GI tract. These can be viral or bacterial most commonly.

You should complete the course and also consider using probiotics. Probiotics help to restore normal function.
They can be used on their own or with certain yogurts.

I hope this helps
