Yes,
high blood pressure, now defined as 130/80,
can affect a man's ability to achieve a full erection.
I understand that you may think your health and heart are in great shape, but high blood pressure can be a silent killer and you are already seeing some of it's effects on your body with erectile issues.
If you were my patient with high blood pressure I would consult with you on limiting sodium intake to less than 2400 mg per day by following the
DASH diet guidelines, in increasing aerobic activity,
and, depending on your pressure, possibly medication.
Please followup with your personal physician to get additional insight on how to protect your heart by treatment of this
hypertension and,thus, possibly regaining optimal erectile function.
