Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
From your description I can understand that your husband has two different pathologies;
- Hypothyroidism ( low thyroid) usually has autoimmune origin.
- Thyroid nodule that should be examined further to determine if it is a benign lesion or not. FNA is a diagnostic tool that helps in these cases.
Hypothyroidism is treated with levothyroxine and usually the treatment is long.
Wish him good health!
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
