Does Having PCOS The Reason For Frequent Miscarriages At The Age Of 17?
My daughter is 17 and had two miscarriages in less than a year. A Dr recently diagnosed her with pcos. She has cysts on her ovaries but no excess hair and not overweight. Her periods are typically 30-35 days apart. She and her husband have tried to conceive for 7 months with no luck. Could there be another reason besides the pcos that s causing her issues?

Hi, thanks for writing to us and we are really happy to help you on your daughter's health concern!
In the present case of infertility with PCOS, I would like to have more information like thyroid status, blood sugar, insulin, GH/LH/FSH/PRL etc. and of course the gestational age at the time of miscarriages!
As per your description she is not at all suffering from infertility and therefore nothing to worry about that just wait for 5/6 months more.
Moreover, first trimester abortions are generally related to abnormalities with the fetus itself and no way PCOS is linked with it...
Hope you got your answer. Please feel free to write to us with the reports or in case any more queries.
Wishing your daughter the best health!
