Does General Blood Test Detect AIDS?

Hi,
I had sex with unknown girl 3 and half months ago but used a condom.. I doubted that I used a condom reversed.. does this will cause Aids? Because I have some symptoms that matches.. when I went to general doctor he checked my splines, n after my blood test report he come to the conclusion that I have streptococcus bacterial infection and iron deficiency/anaemia.. test was cbc. Can we able to know from general blood test (count of rbc and wbc) about the aids?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

HIV or AIDS can't be detected by general blood tests. It doesn't mater that you used condom reversed, unless it wasn't broken. If the condom was intact then there is no need to worry.

HIV detection is done by multiple tests. Antigen tests are used for early detection while antibody detection are used for late detection.

HIV duo (Antibody antigen) has sensitivity and specificity of about 99% at about 4-6 weeks of infection. HIV rapid has sensitivity and specificity of about 99.9% at about 6-12 weeks of exposure. If you have any doubts visit a doctor and go for these tests.

Thanks, Take care
