Does Foetus Receiving Less Blood Lead To Abnormality?

Hello Dear,
I have a query, hope you would answer it.
I am 8 month Pregnant and this is my 9th month. yesterday my Gynac did weekly check up and suggested to have ARG 9 power daily till delivery, she said my baby is getting less blood and it seems only 28 to 30 weeks big, which means it is small.
I am quite worried, is there any issue and problem to my baby. any abnormality or anything which harm my baby??

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Blood supply to the fetus can be assessed only by doing a colour Doppler ultrasound. Growth restriction of the fetus can be due to various causes like
1. Inadequate maternal nutrition
2. Inadequate blood supply to the fetus
3. Some anomaly in the fetus
4. Maternal diseases like hypertension, diabetes or autoimmune diseases.
ARG 9 powder is protein supplement containing arginine, which is a amino acid and it has no proven role in increasing the blood supply to the fetus.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, get a detailed anomaly ultrasound with colour Doppler done and further management should be done accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
