Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a recovering alcoholic and when I went in to get lab work done today I was told that my eyes were jaundiced. Does that mean that I have liver failure from damage done previously? Wondering why this is showing up now as I haven t been drinking. I see my Dr. again next Thursday but this is scaring me. YYYY@YYYY
HELLO Excessive drinking causes bad effects on the normal functioning of Liver and hence causes yellowness in eyes. You don't have liver failure yet. Please visit your doctor and get your serum bilirubin levels done.
Thanks Dr. Tripat Mehta
