Does Emotional Affect Your Heart Beats?

I wanted to find my own if emotions (example: sad, crying, excited, and others) changes your heart beat. I wanted this for my experiment in Science Fair. Please respond for the right answer. I wanted also to try this to people but I also need help for me. Please explain specific that how does it affect your heart beating.

Yes emotions does affect heart beat.
Emotions triggers the SA node to send more signals to the heart muscles thus increasing the heart rate.
Google search fr an article where they have researched the students heart beat while they were writing an exam
