Does Drinking Too Much Water Before Blood Test Cause Results To Alter?

I am scheduled for a series of blood tests for tomorrow. They always have a hard time finding a good vein to place the needle in. A friend of mine who has a similar problem was told by her doctor to drink as much water as possible leading right up to the time of the blood test. Will this alter the results or will they still get a good reading on the blood tests.

Welcome to H.C.M. I am Dr Krishna Dubey.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Do not worry because drinking too much water will not alter your blood test results but it can affect your urine test result slightly.

Drinking lot of water will make you properly hydrated and help to place a needle in your vein .

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.

I will be happy to answer your questions.

Thanx.
