Does Diabetes Make Us Feel Thirsty Always?
hi, 37yo woman with excessive thirst (I drink between 3 & 6 litres of water daily) & frequent urination. I have been tested for diabetes mellitus twice in the last 4 years & told I haven t got diabetes. Now (over the last few months) I get a heavy chest pain on & off, getting more frequent to be almost every day. No doctor I have been to is interested really, but it is possible I have diabetes insipidus??

It is a remote possibility madam. Diabetes insipidus is not as common as diabetes mellitus. excessive thirst and excessive urination can happen in both. I would suggest you to do a
1. Glucose tolerance test
2. Check your thyroid profile.
3.Echocardiogram, EKG & Tremill.
If these tests are perfectly normal then you can start evaluation for Diabetes insipidus.
