Hello,
Emergency contraceptive pills contain high doses of hormone and hence lead to hormone imbalances. This may lead to withdrawal bleeding a few days after ingestion of the pill and delay in the next natural period by a week or two. Since you took the pill soon after the intercourse, you were amply protected. Moreover, if you always had regular 28-30 day cycles, you were in the safe period during the incident. This gave you added protection by nature. Please see a specialist for further evaluation and management if you become overdue by ten days. Hope this helps.
