Does Bypass Surgery Cause Drowsiness?

My wife and I are respectively 76 and 78 years old. Recently, I had a by-pass surgery. Before the surgery I never felt drowsy during the day. But now, even after a good nights sleep, I fell drowsy most of the time. I am still working 5 days of the week but I spend much more time at home now working on-line. I have noted that my wife also complains of drowsiness during the day although we both sleep well. Is there something radically wring with both of us?

hi
drowsiness is not related to your health problem un-till & unless you are on any anti-anxiety or sedative medications.
if there is some co-incidence with the same condition pertaining to your wife it can be seasonal drowsiness especially due to cold/winter season.
try to go for an early morning walk, for change of lifestyle, to keep active.
if you still find the same, please go for thyroid profile (both of you).
all the best
take care
