Does Appendectomy Cause Pain In Urination?

I had an appendectomy four weeks ago. The pain went away after a couple of weeks. Three days ago, I began having pain above and behind my scar. Now, every time I urinate, I m left with a severe itch/burn that goes away after an hour or so. Is this normal?

hi.

post-operative pain your appendectomy site is expected at this point. even those who have been operated on for years already, sometimes experience discomfort in the area, resolving spontaneously. your pain during urination might be a different entity. it is best if you consult with your doctor and request at least for a urinalysis examination to rule out urinary tract infection (UTI). ct-stonogram or ultrasound will help further evaluate your urinary tract. diagnostics and management will be directed accordingly.

hope this helps.

good day!!
