Does anyone in the medical community agree cholesterol is a myth ?

Does anyone in the medical community agree cholesterol is a myth and Homocysteines are the real danger? my research shows this to be TRUE. Your opinion. ckm1956 want o know my qualifications. I am a 72year old male who had 5 bypass surgery 10 years ago. I followed the doctors ORDERS and he ppisoned me with Bextra, Baycol, Vioox and every statin in the cabinet. In March 2006. I was almost an invalid. I figured that is just part of wearing out and getting old. Without any credentia;s to research what the hell was killing me. i started to research the medical profession (misnomer). The Us medical system ranks, by the Word Healt Organization at 43rd. We pay the most for 43rd? The Government FDA and the Pharmaceutical companies and the doctors operate at a profit. There is the problem. Money. I have the best credentials to research the 43rd medical system in the world. They also kill 200,000 every year and put 2,000,000 in the hospital by making mistakes.Everyone should know who is trying to kill them.

Most people in the medical community have their heads too far up their butt to see anything but the drivel they are fed by the pharmaceutical industry. Not one person claiming to be a doctor, nurse or other health care professional has ever provided evidence to back up the claims about cholesterol and heart disease. My research also finds the cholesterol theory a scam. my arguments are here http://cholesterolwise.bravehost.com/ I'm still waiting for one of these so called experts to disprove me.

I recently began taking Lipitor for high cholesterol and my blood pressure has gotten much higher. It has always been 120/80...always. The last 3 times I was at the doctor s (during the last 6 weeks) it was in the nieghborhood of 140/100 and the doc recommended that I buy a home blood pressure kit. I ve been taking it daily and it s still high - 140-150/ 90-110. The doctor doesn t want to see me until after the new year. Could it be the Lipitor? Or could it be stress? Jake: I don t like to take drugs, at all. And I never have until now. I d prefer not to, believe me. I have a family history of high bad cholesterol and low good cholesterol, and have done the non-medication route for over a year, trying to lower my levels. I ve gone vegan, I ve always been a runner (I m almost 49 and run 2 miles every day---have for over 20 years), and it hasn t worked. The doctor told me I am a stroke/heart attack candidate, and that s why I have chosen the meds. I do agree with you, I guess I should have given more history. I do thank you. Jake - I did NOT thumbs down you........If someone takes the time to answer my questions, I never ever ever give thumbs down.

I recently read and also heard from doctors that cholesterol rates of 300 to about 330 are indeed ok. If it gets any higher then you are a candidate for cholesterol lowering drugs. Statins for cholesterol have side effects (that I have experienced first hand) and are pushed by the drug industry and over the years doctors have fallen in line in prescribing them. My level was about 99 to 101 when I was put on them. I have quit taking them. I had the memory loss, muscle aches and blurry vision that are their side effects. Is the medical community being made aware of this or is there another scam going on. It bothers me that doctors would listern to pharmaceutical companies rather than remember their own learnings and experiences.

Yes. My drug, Salsalate, which I take for Rheumatoid Arthritis, and have taken for years, is not longer approved by my insurer. They say the manufacturer is not FDA approved. It was on the market before 1938. My doc tried me on other medications and Salaslate works best. (better was Bextra which was taken off the market). Is there another manufacturer for Salsalate that is approved by FDA? or do I just have to pay for my med? I m a retired teacher and the med was covered until this Jan. 2014. They said it would do no good to ask for a formulary exemption.
