Does antibiotic cause metallic taste in the tongue post tooth extraction?

I had a tooth extracted and five weeks later it hasn t healed properly. I went to the dentist who put me on antibiotics for 5 days and I have one day left of this but there s still a fizzing sensation and nasty metallic taste in my mouth. The pain is reduced but it still feels like somethings wrong.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of metallic taste in the tongue post tooth extraction. Need not to worry about it. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined as dysguesia could be another possible cause for your condition. Go for citrus food to stimulate your taste buds. Drink plenty of water and take diet rich in multivitamins. Keep brushing twice daily and use Listerine mouthwash. Do flossing twice a week at least.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
