Does An Emergency Contraceptive Pill Cause Delayed Periods?

Hi dr. Me and my partner had intercourse in the end of feb,2018 so i took ECP after an hour. Then we had sex again on 3rd march,2018 and i took ECP again as per desire of my husband. Then on 6h march,2018 i got my periods ( 3 days before my periods date), but bleeding was not that much as i got in my usual periods. Like bleeding was less. Then on 17th march we had intercourse again with protection, and I didn t take an ECP. So today is 19th April, 2018 but i didn t get my periods yet, which was supposed to be on 6th April..... I did stip test as well and it was also negative So i am worried about my condition that why i am not getting my 2nd periods? Is it because of overdose of ECP? Or something else.? And my husband told me to take gynocosid, so shoul i take it or not? Plz guide me as we are not planning to have a baby now. Thanks

Hello,

Taking a contraceptive pill can do that to your periods. The blood flow is less and the number of days is also less. But still, if the periods are delayed for more than a week, you can get a check-up done to rule out pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita
