Does Alcohol Interact With Metronidazole?

I drank a small amount of alcohol tonight & am supposed to start Metronidazole (which I know you cannot drink while taking, & don t plan on drinking while I am taking the medication). Am I safe to START it even though I drank earlier tonight? I will NOT be drinking during treatment with the medicine.

I really appreciate your concern, it is always be advisable to avoid the alcohol when you are suppose to take some medicine and it is for the health safety hope this information helps.
