Does Alcohol Consumption Affects Tonsillitis?

I have been taking vk penicillin since monday for tonsilitis, and my infections have more or less cleared, and tonsils are nearly at normal size. I have a party tomorrow and I was wondering whether or not I would be able to drink alcohol? Will it set me back if I do and some of the infection will return?

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
It is better to avoid alcohol during any infection because alcohol dehydrate the mucosa and increases the penetrability of the microorganisms through the mucosa. Consumption of alcohol during antibiotic course can result in vomiting. so better to avoid alcohol now. I hope I have answered your query. Take care.
