Does A Steroid Nasal Spray Cause The Tonsils To Bleed?

Hi, I have noticed that my tonsil is bleeding while I was trying to push out a tonsil stone with a qtip. I wonder if my tonsils are more sensitive due to the fact that my steroid nasal spray sometimes drips down my throat. Is this possibly the reason for the bleeding?

Hi,

Steroid nasal spray may cause bleeding by thinning of mucosa and increase the chance to develop infection and bleeding.

Also, removal of tonsil stone may also contribute to this problem.

Please apply pressure at the site of bleeding. Control your blood pressure and avoid self medication.

Please consult your ENT specialist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
