Does A Stabbing Pain In The GI Tract Require Medical Attention?
Hi Dr. Rynne! I have a 15-year-old with a sharp, stabbing pain in her left, lower GI tract. It comes and goes. She s not in a lot of distress so I think it s a gas pain or muscle strain. But, she is a Leukemia survivor so I tend to be an alarmist. What acceleration of symptoms would require an urgent care visit?
if the pain ios too sharp and is intermittent in nature then you should consult emergency acre a ct abdomen sshould also be done for the same initially go for ultrasound.
