Does A Spot In Thyroid Cause Raspy Voice?

I am a 63 yr old female. with an 8 year history of Wegeners. Multiple flares over time but quiet now. I was hospitalized before Christmas with atypical pneumonia and during a recent follow-up CAT Scan they found a spot on my thyroid. Nowfor the past two weeks I have had a raspy voice (worse in the morning) Your thoughts.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
You had history of pneumonia. Your raspy voice is not due to spot on thyroid but it may be due to some respiratory problems.

Go for ultrasound thyroid and if required go for fine needle aspiration cytology of thyroid nodule. It will give you exact idea. Then start treatment accordingly.
