Does A Small Lump In The Throat With Throat Hoarseness Indicate Cancer?
For the past month I have noticed that my voice seems deeper. Similar to what it sounds like when I first wake in the morning. I also feel like I have a lump in my throat that comes and goes. I have sufferedwith acid reflux for years and have taken different antacids, currently Zegerid OTC. During a physical 3 days ago my doctor found a small lump on the left side of my adams apple and suggested and ultrasound. I am scared this might be cancer. Am I wrong to worry so much?
Don't worry about it. It may be due to infection or thyroid swelling or diverticulum etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please get it done upper gi endoscopy or indirect laryngoscopy to confirm the problem. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. avoid spicy food. If no improvement please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
