Hi,

Slip disc at L5 S! will not cause severe numbness in the penis and scrotum. I suggest you get it checked by a neurologist and evaluate the nerve root compression. If severe compression surgery can solve your problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I am 26 year old male. 2 months back I found out I have L3L4 slip disc, through MRI, after I noticed numbness below the waistline upto the knees throughout. I am under physiotherapy and slowly recovering from the numbness but the pain is still there. one more problem is that my groin is still numb and I can hardly feel my penis, perineum, anal area, buttocks and scrotum or I should say the sensation has gone down to 50% from normal. Also the erections have become weak. Kindly suggest a line of treatment as I am very much worried about this because I have read L3L4 slip disc causes impotence or ED due to nerve compression. Please help such that I can have a normal sex life.

Hi, I herniated a disc in my lower back (L4-5) and have been having a slow recovering. i have had no pain for two months with numbness in my foot. the only time I get pain is when i do sommething i shouldn t, like vacumming, or bending over to clean the cat litter. I started swimming 2 and a half weeks ago. there was a short period of time where my numbness/tingling was much better but in the last few days it has started to to travel up my leg along the path of the nervve. I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing? Does this mean that my nerve is being pinched less or more?
