Does Taxol Cause Peripheral Neuropathy?

My Mother, 85 years old, is being treated for breast cancer. She had polio in 1954 and currently has post-polio syndrome. She walks around her home with a walker but needs a wheel chair for most other needs.She has had a lumpectomy to remove a stage 1 tumor. Her tumor is hormone receptor negative and considered to be very aggressive. E sutu cancer cells for infultrating lobular cancer were found in her margins. We are being told that a combination of Taxol (chemo) and Herceptin is the normal protocol for her diagnosis. My concern is the neuropathy side affects of the Taxol. Will her post-polio syndrome make this worse or more risky?

IN the given situation of Yours, You need not worry about the post-polio syndrome.Taxol if use meticulously,side effect could be kept at minimum-especially neuropathy.
This plan would reduce your dilemma from Taxol neuropathy.
