Does Simvastatin Cause Hives?

Hi, I am at present taking Simvastatin 40 mg which were changed to a different brand as the Pharmacist could not get supply of the original ones. I have come out in large hives and have a very sore mouth and would like to know if this is relevant to these tablets?

You describe allergic reaction which can be caused from any medication as well as other allergens.
I would advise you contact your doctor to find out the cause of your allergy.
