Does Quetiapine Cause One's Metabolism To Slow Down?

Does Quetiapine cause your metabolism to slow down? If so can I count on it to speed up once stopped. I am 60 years old and realize that your metabolism slows down with age. I am on 100 mg 3x a day. I have been on it for approximately 3 years. My weight gain has soared since then. I was told that it would make me crave sweets, which it definitely does. But no one told me it would actually slow my metabolism.

hello there!
Thank you for asking. i read you query and i want you to know that not all your symptoms are because of the drug quetiapine you are using. Age of 60 decreases metabolism quetiapine rather increases appetite than decreasing it. Weight gains sweat issues are because of the drug.

Dyspepsia

I would adise to see an endocrinologist for assessment of thyroid function tests as hypothyroidism may be a major criminal for decreased metabolism rates.
