Does Propranolol Interact With Levaquin And Prednisone?

I have taken Leviquin for two weeks and done almost 8 days of Prednisone for asthma and bronchitis. I now need to take 20 mg of Propranolol for performance as a professional musician. Is there any serious interactive risks involved here? This morning I took 25 mg Prednisone and am tapering off daily as directed by my pulmologist.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Levaquin (Levofloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. Levaquin is used to treat bacteria especially, in respiratory tract. The effect of this drug will gone not more than 24 hours. The mean terminal plasma elimination half-life of Levofloxacin ranges from approximately 6 to 8 hours. So, since you already finish this medication you should not worry too much.

So, I will tell you about the consumption of the other 2 drugs, Propranolol and Prednisone. Fortunately, there is no interaction found in taking these drugs together. But always follow your treating doctor interaction for the right dose.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nurul Falah
