Does Primolut Cause Weight Gain?

I am 42 years old not married and talking primolut nor 10 mg since 3 months because my period is not regular since a year, I am trying to lose weight since months, but I couldn t, my question: does this medicine make my having more weight and prevent losing weight

Primolut – N contains norethisterone which is a progestin with some estrogenic effects. It may cause weight gain when used for long time.
There are many causes of overweight such as increased food consumption without increasing physical activity, high junk food, Cushing’s syndrome, and hypothyroidism.
Advice
1.     Consult your doctor for review of treatment or dose change of Primolut – N if possible
2.     Work out in gym. Start with a balanced mix of cardio, weight training and flexibility exercises
3.     Avoid eating high energy foods such as cakes, chocolates, chips etc.
4.     Avoid alcohol and smoking
5.     Increase consumption of high fiber diet such as wheat bread, dry date, vegetables etc.
6.     Drink 3 – 4 liters of water daily
7.     Chew the food properly to make it easily digestible
8.     Avoid excess intake tea and coffee after meal
9.     Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day
10.     Avoid oily & spicy food
11.     Investigation – lipid profile, serum TSH
